So I did it. I made it my first week without killing any kiddos and/or colleagues. YES! It really was a great first week, albeit a short one (Monday was a teacher inservice day). This next week is truly my first FULL week. I still want to go back so I figure that's a good start. :) No really good stories or anything...but fifth graders are a lot cooler than I was anticipating. Hopefully this next week is just as good as last week's. I know I'm better prepared and feeling more confident with discipline. I really have such a neat (for lack of a better word) group of students. I hope and continue to pray that they actually learn something from me...not just avoid being at home everyday.
By the way, those of you who have been working, hats off to you! I was TIRED at the end of this week. I pretty much was the LAZIEST I've ever been this weekend. And loved it :) Feels so good to be tired from actually doing something productive and not just tired from being home all day. :)

Soliciting Prayers
Because I start teaching tomorrow!!! I cannot believe the day is finally here :) I pray, and ask that you do too, that the youngsters don't eat me alive. It's a tough class, with some tough individual cases. Coming in midyear isn't the best for them, but you know I'll try my hardest. That's where more prayer enters in . . . that all I do and all my good intentions are enough for the next 4 months.
Eek! So excited!!
(FYI: I have a sneaking suspicion that teaching again will open up a whole new can of blogging worms.)

So I realize the list of 25 things can be seen as a little unusual or unneeded, but I was forwarded an e-mail that talked about how stupid and useless making such a list is. Harumph! Although that may be on the truer side, no one cares how frivilous or unnecessary these lists are. They're just for entertainment. So I say enjoy them, don't mock them. Let the lists continue to be made. Let us continue to find out silly things about our friends that would have never come up in normal conversation. After all, wouldn't we all like to use what we read as a new conversation piece?
Ok. I'm done.
By the way, I got a job teaching 5th grade. Let the madness begin!

My 25 Things
Here's to all my friends who tagged me. Hope you enjoy!
1. I get really irritated when someone takes the last of something in the kitchen. i.e. last Dr. Pepper or the last piece of pie
2. I will take my camera to social events without ever taking it out or even thinking about taking pictures so it often goes unused.
3. One of my favorite things continues to be going to starbucks, ordering a vanilla latte (or lately it's been toffee nut latte) and sitting there reading for hours.
4. If I start a book, I have to finish it. Even if I have to put it down for years, I will always go back to finish it.
5. I like the volume to be on an even number, whether it's the television or the radio. If I notice it isn't, I will try to sneak and change it, even at a stranger's house.
6. I find it hard to think of things to answer questions like this. I've been at this for 15 min already, but I only have 6.
7. When I write e-mails or letters to friends, I always have to make sure the punctuation or spelling is correct. If it isn't, I either apologize for it or go back through and proofread again and again to make sure it's as correct as I can make it. Or I try to justify the errors with creative liberties.
8. I want to take a roadtrip around the country visiting as many of my friends in different states as possible. I just need to find the money.
9. I feel weird if I don't wash new clothing before I wear it.
10. I secretly want to buy an iMac, but I don't think I'll be able to justify spending the money on it.
11. Vacationing in Europe is my new favorite thing to do.
12. I collect music boxes.
13. I have read more than 10 books in the last 5 months.
14. I'm a firm believer of the phrase "the more the merrier".
15. Favorite fast food: Chick-fil-a. Surest way to cheer me up or butter me up: bring me Chick-fil-a.
16. I have a new found love of Texas football. I'm pretty sure Texas baseball is next.
17. I can't wait until I get to visit New York City again someday.
18. I saw my first Cirque du Soleil show on my last visit to Las Vegas. LOVE. I recommend it to anyone who wants to see something weird and trippy but set to great music.
19. I hate to iron. It's just lucky I'm a teacher . . . don't need iron only clothes to do that.
20. I love love love fruit. Any and all kinds. Mmmm good.
21. My dad just got a new amp with surround sound and new speakers. It seriously makes ALL movies fun to watch at home.
22. Nutella is a gift sent straight from God.
23. Bike riding scares me. I used to be quite good at it. Now I suck. I'd like to have words with whoever made up the phrase "it's just like riding a bike, you never forget". Apparently, I've forgotten.
24. My new favorite thing to bake is homemade cinnamon rolls.
25. Board games/card games are a good way to pass the time. (thanks for the reminder, Chels)
